STATEMENT
LONG LIVE INTERNATIONAL WORKERS' DAY 2026!
The SUTEP UNION Defense Committee, with a class-based stance, expresses its fervent class-based greetings to the Peruvian and international proletariat, to the teachers of the Public Schools, and to our beloved and indestructible people, in the context of May Day: International Workers' Day, a date to raise the banner of “Rebellion is justified,” declaring the Next:
International Context:
Oppressed Nations are the foundation of transformations within the context of intensifying contradictions, primarily fueled by the Principal Contradiction: Imperialism versus Oppressed Nations.
The Middle East is ablaze, and the proletariat is struggling intensely, with the prospect of the collapse and disintegration of imperialism within 100 to 150 years and the triumph of the "Society of Great Universal Harmony," without exploiters or exploited. The Principal Contradiction: Imperialism versus oppressed peoples and nations of the Third World, is shaking the countries of the globe. Thus, as a continuation of the First Campaign initiated in June 2025, the imperialist-Zionist War of Aggression, launched on February 28, 2026, against the people of Iran by the United States, with the Zionist state and instrument of Israel, is unfolding under the false pretense that the people of Iran: “is a threat to the security of the United States and Israel due to its development of nuclear weapons and long-range missiles…” And the lies continue as part of their abject Low-Intensity Warfare: lying to generate favorable public opinion. On March 1st, they had bombed more than 2,000 targets, assassinating Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with his entire family. His son, Mukhta Khamenei (403-2026), has been chosen as his successor, and consequently, in these war crimes perpetrated by imperialism-Zionism, they have failed to eliminate the leadership of Iran. The more than 2,000 “targets” of this abject attack were against the civilian population, against the cities where the Iranian people live.
On February 28, 2026, 185 girls, teachers, and parents were killed at the Minab Primary School in Iran. The girls killed in this execrable genocide ranged in age from 7 to 12. The imperialist-Zionists, with the US President, the arch-reactionary and genocidal Donald Trump, and Netanyahu of the Zionist State of Israel as their representatives, had planned this vile "Epic Fury" campaign to eliminate the leadership, crush, defeat, and subjugate the Iranian people, and "change the regime." But their perfidious plans have been thwarted by the heroic resistance of the Iranian people, who even struck their aircraft carrier, the "Abraham Lincoln," considered "invincible" by the supposed "most powerful army on earth," with four missiles, rendering it inoperable and forcing it to flee. The missiles have also destroyed more than eight bases of US imperialism, and the genocidal Netanyahu had to flee to Berlin (Germany) in the early stages of this execrable imperialist-Zionist War of Aggression.
The people of Iran launch powerful hypersonic missiles that impact the territory of the fascist, genocidal, and Zionist state of Israel. These treacherous actions are linked to the campaigns waged against the people of Venezuela and the "encirclement" of the people of Cuba, as well as the fallacious "ceasefire in Iran," which in reality is further genocide against the heroic Iranian people.
US imperialism, in collusion and struggle with the nuclear superpower of Russia and the Chinese imperialism of Xi Jinping, intends to dominate the oppressed peoples and nations of the Third World and offload its crises, through US imperialist tariffs, onto the shoulders of the people. But their days are numbered; they will "bite the dust of defeat." And against this imperialist-Zionist War of Aggression, the people of Iran confront it with a just and righteous War of National Resistance. The balance sheet of the Imperialist-Zionist War of Aggression is resounding:
In this First Campaign, the Iranian people have dealt the fascist beasts a resounding defeat. The abject Yankees boast of having murdered more than 38 million people since 1971, with various lies, perpetrating horrendous genocides. They are mobilizing 50,000 members of their army to occupy Iran. Experts in murdering children, teachers, and families, as in the Minab Primary School: 168 girls murdered. This hyena has encountered a people who, with a War of National Resistance, are striking precise blows, shooting down their "invisible" planes and rendering their largest aircraft carriers in the world inoperable.
In short, the imperialist beast is living its last gasps, and even if they use their atomic weapons as they are plotting, they will be crushed by the peoples of the world, led by their vanguard. They have fabricated a false "ceasefire" to "re-arm," but their accomplice, the Zionist state of Israel, continues to perpetrate genocide against the heroic people of Palestine and Lebanon.
And in Latin America, there is a generalized crisis generated by outdated bureaucratic capitalism, where semi-feudal and semi-colonial countries, subjected primarily to Yankee imperialism, are engaged in a sharp class struggle between the big bourgeoisie and the landowners who hold political power against the people. Composed of these social classes—peasantry, proletariat, petty bourgeoisie—even the bourgeoisie is conditioned by the interests of the oppressor and dominant class, as seen in the countries of Chile, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru. In this painting, one can observe the enormous concentration of "wealth" by a handful of Big Bourgeois and Landowners.
National Context;
Currently, a general crisis and decay of the State and Government System is evident, marked by intermittent institutional corruption.
The current historical moment is summarized in these main contradictions: masses/feudalism, primarily the poor peasantry, against landowners; people/bureaucratic capitalism, workers against this fascist, genocidal, and traitorous regime; nation/imperialism, the Peruvian people against the fire sale and plundering of natural resources by transnational and monopolistic companies of Yankee imperialism, primarily. And we must also consider the claws of Chinese imperialism: the investment in the Chancay Mega-port in Lima, amounting to 4.5 billion dollars.
In Peru, just 17 families possess a vast fortune amassed from the wages, absolute surplus value, hunger, and misery of the people, totaling more than 90,328,800,000 (ninety billion three hundred twenty-eight thousand eight hundred thousand million soles). In Engineer Ernesto Linares Macaro. The richest families in Peru, 2024 (INFOBAE, January 6, 2025). And the “struggle for land” persists: “almost 1,400,000 hectares have been transferred to large private capital in the last two decades, and in the agricultural sector alone, deals have been made for almost 320,000 hectares. What can we say about these transfers? First of all, that almost 80% of the land was transferred by the State to private individuals, through auctions, awards, and concessions. Then, the agents of the new land concentration in the country are fully identified economic groups or independent companies, such as Gloria, Romero, Oviedo, or Dyer, which participate indiscriminately in the auctions of mega-irrigation projects, in the sugar and biofuels sector, and in the land market with enormous subsidies directed by the State” (Brutal Reconcentration of Land on the Peruvian Coast, Alejo Relzundi Silvera, May 13, 2023).
After successive “coups d'état,” the lawyer Jeri and the other lawyer and former magistrate, Balcazar, criminally charged with stealing money from the Lambayeque Bar Association and authoring Law 32171, which allows the State to grant job “appointments” to his children, and complicit in the actions of the Fujimori political “cartels,” Acuña, López Aliaga, and other parasites, They live off Congress and the State; the country is mired in a generalized crisis where Congress serves to enact legislation that supports and grants “impunity” to crime, with all branches of government rotten with illicit activity and dominated by the “institution of corruption.” They even appointed a member of the mafia (a criminal organization known as the “White Collars”) to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Attorney General, Tomás Aladino Gálvez, to shelve complaints and protect the thugs in the Public Administration. They have even removed a judge, Dr. Delia Espinoza, to give them “free rein” and have taken over the Public Prosecutor's Office.
In the following table, landowners concentrate vast agricultural areas, with a centuries-old land problem that remains unresolved: Colombia, 81%; Peru, 77%; Chile, 74%; Paraguay, 66%. A fascist, genocidal, and traitorous regime, then, selling off natural resources piece by piece. “Strategic” resources—uranium, lithium, iron, copper, hydrocarbons, and, more recently, “rare earth elements”—are primarily for the benefit of U.S. imperialism. The people suffer chronic hunger, intensified overexploitation, and impoverished wages compared to the lavish salaries of the privileged bureaucracy, amidst rampant inflation and the fire sale of natural resources; in addition to a systematic denial of the people's rights. The class struggle unfolds with growing popular protest, which the Big Bourgeoisie seeks to crush with repression and genocide. Now, any inhabitant of Peru who exercises the fundamental right to free expression, thought, and protest is arrested and imprisoned to be sanctioned as a “terrorist.”
There is, therefore, a continuity of a fascist, genocidal, and traitorous regime, initiated on April 5, 1992, and to preserve it, they have staged their farce and electoral fraud for April 12, 2026: “General Elections.” These elections are a means of domination and an instrument to attempt to crush the struggles of the people and, centrally, their vanguard, as well as to preserve this outdated social order that only benefits the Big Bourgeoisie, the Landowners, and the Bureaucratic Capitalism of Yankee imperialism, primarily. According to the ONPE (National Office of Electoral Processes), the presidential election has these partial results: Keiko Fujimori of Fuerza Popular, with 17.091%, representing the Big Bourgeoisie, Buyer Faction, has the most votes; followed by Roberto Sánchez of Juntos por el Perú, representing the Big Bourgeoisie, Bureaucratic Faction, with 12.038%. followed by Rafael López Aliaga, in third place, of Popular Renewal, with 11.880%. Consequently, they advance to the second round, to be held on June 7, 2026, between the two leading candidates for President of the Republic. Immediately upon losing these elections, López Aliaga protested the process, demanding that they be annulled. The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) responded that they cannot be annulled, and even the international observers support them, arguing that they were conducted normally.
These general elections were organized by the exploiting and oppressive classes of the people, namely the Big Bourgeoisie with its two factions colluding and vying for political power: the Comprador Big Bourgeoisie and the Bureaucratic Big Bourgeoisie, with the support of U.S. imperialism, specifically its ambassador to the country. They do not benefit, nor will they ever benefit, the people. They are part of the Parliamentary Cretinism designed to renew and replace the representatives of the Big Bourgeoisie and the Landowners. They represent the path of the Bourgeoisie; they are not the path of the People. Furthermore, these sham elections serve to uphold the Three Great Mountains that oppress and exploit us, skinning us alive to produce absolute surplus value: Imperialism, primarily Yankee imperialism, Bureaucratic Capitalism, and Semi-feudalism. The central task is to topple these Three Mountains to break the chains of brutal exploitation, hunger, and misery.
Therefore, do not vote; because doing so implies endorsing this outdated social order and the Comprador Big Bourgeoisie, which seized power in 1980, as well as the Landowners, Bureaucratic Capitalism, and even Yankee imperialism. It's 14 centuries of oppression, since the emergence of the State in the 7th century, and 200 years of a Bourgeois Republic, with a "democracy" used only to exploit and oppress the Peruvian people. In this context, the decaying Landowning/Bureaucratic State, with its rotten "State Powers," is organizing the General Elections on April 12-13, 2026, to replace authorities and renew the reactionary Congress, saturated with lackeys of the exploiters and now boasting even more parasites: the 60 "Senators" and 130 Deputies. A unique feature is that it is the Senate that will replace the President of the Republic in cases of "declaration of vacancy," and it is "indissoluble": it cannot be dissolved.
Therefore, the General Elections are a constant means and instrument throughout the country's history to "legitimize" this outdated social order, which is in the midst of a generalized crisis. And whoever "wins" these General Elections will implement more fascism, genocide, and the sell-off of our nation, because it is the path of the bourgeoisie and never of the people. And the people also have another path: the Democratic Path, which is the path of Mariátegui, led by the unfading Vanguard of the working class, pure steel and embodying the Scientific Ideology of the Proletariat, which has become a New, Third, and Superior Stage. This path will bring down the Three Mountains that have plunged us into inequity, chronic hunger, misery, and oppression.
Time will tell: Imperialism is not eternal. For the people, and the people alone, are the creators of history, guided by the light of the Universe, the “proletarian steel” sustained by the unfading and invincible Scientific Ideology of the Proletariat, now embodied since December 26, 2022, in the revived New International: The International League of Communists (ILC). And these facts are historical, not “apologetics”; they are brilliant actions of a historical nature that only the outstanding vanguards of the class have so clearly defined.
They cunningly employ Low-Intensity Warfare (distributing food contaminated with pathogens and rotten meat to students in the village) and the nefarious strategy of "masses against masses" to manipulate the lives of teachers and drag them into the pigsty of "meritocracy": "promotion within the teaching ranks," which, as we have reiterated, is a reactionary tactic designed to privatize public schools and lead to their mass dismissal. Meritocracy is a sinister plan of Yankee imperialism.
