Thousands of people gathered in the Maliveld area in the Netherlands on Sunday, June 22, for the NATO summit to be held on June 24/25.

The rally, which was attended by approximately 6,000 people, started with anti-NATO speeches, and then the march began.

In addition to local and immigrant organizations, participants included groups from countries such as Belgium and Germany. Partizan Netherlands and the German Roter Bund, and the Dutch Communist Committee came together under the banner of the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL). During the approximately two-hour march, slogans related to current issues were chanted. While the crowd’s interest in the march was quite intense, it is noteworthy that participation in the Red Line protest that took place last week was 200,000 people, while participation in this march remained at 6,000. This difference serves as an indicator of the anti-imperialist consciousness in the Netherlands in general.

“Disband NATO! Free Palestine!”

The march ended by returning to the Maliveld area with slogans such as “The Netherlands finances NATO; Israel bombs! Down with imperialism and NATO! Down with imperialist warmongering!” During the action, the communist cadres of the CPI (Maoist), who were sent off to immortality, were saluted by protesting against Indian reactionism.

The protest concluded with slogans such as “Long Live the Communist Party of India (Maoist).”
