We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Die Rote Fahne Austria.

As an answer to the murder of the Communist Party of India (Maoist)’s General Secretary, Comrade Basavaraj [Editorial statement] and other 26 communists, many actions that internationally and in Austria condemned this massacre by the Indian State. We hereby share more pictures of these actions, that we have recently received.

Graffiti for CPI (Maoist) and the People’s War in India

We hereby share some pictures of graffiti made. Alongside we have received the following text: “Today, 10th of July of 2025, would be the 70th anniversary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist)’s General Secretary. He was murdered around one month and a half ago, along with dozens more of comrades in a malicious action, surrounded by thousands of military and police forces of the Indian reactionary regime. We participate in the Defense Campaign of the People’s War in India to defend the revolutionary struggle and specially its leadership! Lal Salaam! Lal Salaam means, “Red Greetings”, and its a broadly used slogan within the country’s revolutionary movement.

The message in the graffiti: “Lal Salaam to the CPI (Maoist) and its martyrs! Support the People’s War in India!”.

Actions in the Palestine solidarity movement

The campaign to support the People’s War was also spread among activists within the Palestine Solidarity Movement in Austria. We hereby share pictures of the demonstrations and actions in Vienna, Linz and Innsbruck.

In Innsbruck was read a speech in solidarity with the revolutionary struggle in India in a demonstration of the Palestine solidarity movement. In the speech a call to carry out solidarity actions to honor the life and to remember the murder of the CPI (Maoist)’s General Secretary was made. A big part of the demonstration expressed solidarity.

Activists rallied also in Linz to express solidarity with the People’s War in India.

Also in Vienna a solidarity action with the Indian revolutionary movement was made during the march of a demonstration to support the Palestine liberation struggle. Hereby a couple of pictures on it.
