Sweden – Statement: HONOR AND GLORY TO COMRADE BASAVARAJ! LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE’S WAR IN INDIA!
Hereby we share an unofficial translation of an statement by Kommunisten.
The Communist League mourns the death of Comrade Basavaraj, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), and the 27 heroes who fought to their last breath in defense of the Party and the Revolution. Comrade Basavaraj, in true communist spirit, dedicated and ultimately gave his entire life to the Party and the heroic People’s War it leads. Comrade Basavaraj continued, even in the most difficult conditions and situations, to lead and persevere, under the enemy’s encirclement and annihilation campaigns and constant attacks from the reactionary armed forces. He, along with the 27 comrades, immortal heroes and red combatants, has been immortalized in the history of the world’s peoples, a history of struggle, written in blood and fire. Comrades, the crimes of reaction will not go unpunished. They will continue to live in the memories of the people and constantly remind us to stay the course: the course towards communism through the path of People’s War.
We send our warmest greetings to the Communist Party of India (Maoist), to its Central Committee, to its entire leadership system from bottom to top, to its members, militants, and combatants. We send our greetings to the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army, to the Party’s various mass organizations, fronts, and the democratic forces under the Party’s leadership that day in and day out fight to seize power throughout the country, to complete the New Democratic Revolution, by expelling imperialism, bureaucratic capitalism, and feudalism, in service of and as part of the proletarian world Revolution.
This is not the first time a leading comrade has fallen in the People’s War, neither in India nor in any other country. The reaction believes that with the death of Comrade Basavaraj they have dealt a fatal blow to the People’s War, that it would be the beginning of the end of the People’s War – let them continue to dream! All the blood that is spilled only fertilizes the earth and waters the Revolution, it paves the way and gives rise to new leaders and comrades. It is a historical necessity, as Lenin teaches us, that the Revolution requires and thus generates Revolutionary leaders in accordance with the general laws of social movement, particularly the process of Revolution and counter-revolution.
The old Indian State cannot solve the problems and needs of the Indian people, it cannot respond to the people’s demands, it can only provide more misery, more hunger, more death, and war. Indian bureaucratic capitalism cannot solve its own problems either. Imperialism, in constant pursuit of more and more profit, dying and in decay, can only solve its economic problems by increasing exploitation worldwide; it demands that the relatively strong Indian bureaucratic capitalism sell out its land, its resources, and its people for cheaper and cheaper prices – imperialism, bureaucratic capitalism, and feudalism in India are digging their own grave. The so-called “Operation Kagaar” is further evidence of this fact. It is a counter-revolutionary plan from the reaction to eliminate the organized resistance of the people against the intensification of the people’s exploitation. When the people struggle and resist, its response, and can only be, genocide, for their time has passed. The people, under the leadership of the Party of the proletariat, understand that when one has an old shoe, it must be thrown away and a new one acquired; the old State must be crushed throughout the country, and in its process of disintegration, a people’s India must rise in its place – the new power.
The People’s War, as long as the subjective force creatively and correctly elevates, applies, and defends the scientific ideology of the international proletariat, today Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, in creative application to its concrete conditions, in struggle against all forms of revisionism and opportunism, is unstoppable and cannot be defeated – imperialism will continue to fall into its grave, dragging down its puppet State in India, under the strength of the armed seas of the Indian peoples. The Communist Party of India (Maoist) and the People’s War it leads is a light that shines over the world’s peoples, showing a way out of oppression and misery – a symbol of the new world. For the communists in Sweden, its struggle has always been a source of guidance, inspiration, and courage.
