NOTES ON THE WORLD CRISIS (13): Great political, military and moral triumph of Palestine
We hereby publish an unofficial translation of an article by Peruvian comrades:
Great political, military and moral triumph of the Palestinian liberation movement
Summary: In Israel and throughout the world, clear signs are being expressed that show the political defeat of imperialism-Zionism in its colonial war against Palestine. If so, it is a political defeat, this means a military and moral defeat of the enemy in its unjust war and political, military and moral triumph of the just war, of the war of resistance of the Palestinian people against US-imperialism-Zionism and other imperialists and reactionaries in collusion and struggle among themselves.
See how the masses of the Gaza Strip, mainly, remain firm and move according to the flexibility of the war, conjuring the objective of the imperialist-Zionist enemy of isolating the guerrillas from the masses, of drying up the fish tank, through terror, mass slaughter, hunger and displacement, in a word through the most cruel and cowardly genocide, in the sight and patience of all the world’s media.
We also see how the vast majority of the population of the West Bank remains united to the armed national resistance movement, whose vanguard is in the Gaza Strip, facing death, the most iniquitous and disproportionate repression and detention in concentration camps of the Zionist enemy.
The same support for the Palestinian armed resistance, Hamas and all the other forces of the national united front of resistance, is expressed by the masses of the Arab peoples, despite the treacherous action of their governments, lackeys of imperialism, mainly Yankee, and all the peoples of the Greater Middle East, as does the immense mass of oppressed nations and the imperialist countries themselves, which reject, condemn and repudiate aggression, forcing reactionary or imperialist governments around the world to show a mask of support for the war of the Zionist State of Israel and its protector the Yankee imperialist, and on the other hand “condemning” or asking for “protection” for the Gazan population, or asking with one side of the tongue that Netanyahu “stop” the offensive against Rafah, or that they do not leave to deliver more weapons if that is the case, while with the other side of the tongue they say the opposite and continue to provide the means to consummate the genocide against the Palestinian people.
But whatever the imperialists and Zionists do, they will not be able to break the Palestinian resistance and the support of the vast majority of the peoples of the world for their cause. In its own bowels the Zionist enemy faces a movement of rejection of its genocidal action.
All this and more that we do not list constitute clear signs that show the political defeat of imperialism-Zionism in its colonial war against Palestine. And if so, it is a political defeat, this means a military and moral defeat of the enemy in his unjust war and political, military and moral triumph of the just war, of the war of resistance of the Palestinian people against US-imperialism-Zionism and other imperialists and reactionaries in collusion and struggle among themselves.

News from the bourgeois press that illustrates the above:
EU urges Israel to “immediately” end its military operation in Rafah
The European Union this Wednesday urged Israel to “immediately” end its military operation in Rafah, which “further exacerbates” the “serious” situation in Gaza, and has warned that it would “put great strain” on the relationship of the EU with the country. “If Israel would continue its military operation in Rafah, it would inevitably put a great strain onto the EU’s relationship with Israel,” said the European Union’s high representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, in a statement.
The Twenty-Seven have therefore called on Israel to “immediately end its military operation in Rafah”, since “it is further disrupting the distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza and is causing more internal displacement, exposure to famine and human suffering.” More than a million civilians are taking shelter in and around Rafah and have been asked to evacuate to areas that the United Nations says cannot be considered safe. While the EU recognizes Israel’s right to defend itself, it must do so in accordance with International Humanitarian Law and provide security to civilians, stressed once again Borrell, who has called on the country to reopen the Rafah border crossing. Under international humanitarian law, Israel must allow and facilitate the unhindered passage of humanitarian aid to civilians, the Twenty-Seven have emphasized.
The Biden Government will send $1 billion in weapons to Israel
The Administration of the President of the United States, Democrat Joe Biden, will send around $1 billion in weapons and ammunition to Israel, according to what government officials communicated to the “relevant committees” of Congress, The Wall Street Journal reported this Tuesday.
The aid package will consist of $700 million in tank ammunition, $500 million in tactical vehicles and $60 million in mortar shells, officials said on condition of anonymity.
The decision comes after the White House earlier this month halted a shipment of some 3,500 bombs over concerns that a planned attack on the southern Gaza town could cause civilian casualties.
The pause in this shipment of bombs earned criticism from Republicans, who argued that it represented the abandonment of the United States’ closest ally in the Middle East.
House Republicans planned to respond this week with a bill ordering the delivery of offensive weapons to Israel.
Last Sunday, the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, expressed to the Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, the “strong commitment” of the United States to the security of Israel, although he stressed his clear opposition to a ground military operation in Rafah, in the Gaza Strip.
Blinken argued that this operation will cause “terrible harm to civilians” and will not be able to erradicate Hamas, as there will still be thousands of armed militants from this Islamist group.
Likewise, it will hinder the urgent humanitarian assistance that is required in the area, where famine has been recorded in some parts.
What has happened in the last few hours
These are the main news of the day in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza at 8:00 p.m. this Tuesday, May 14:
Pro-Palestinian protests continue at universities. The Geneva Police has evicted the pro-Palestinian students who had occupied the lobby of a building of the main university of this city for a week. The eviction has concluded with at least fifty people evacuated. A local police spokeswoman confirmed that several people were detained for questioning during the police intervention. On the other hand, some 1,500 Greek university students, according to the police, held a protest last night in front of the rectorate of the University of Athens to demand that what they consider “Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people” stop.
David Cameron denounces the “atrocious” attacks on aid convoys to Gaza . The head of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom and former British Prime Minister David Cameron has denounced in a message on the social network Israel must hold the attackers accountable and do more to allow aid in. “I will raise my concerns with the Israeli government.”

Last December, the Israeli army announced that it had “broken the operational capabilities” of Hamas’s armed wing, the Ezedin Al Qasam Brigades, in Jabalia, the largest refugee camp in the Strip. The speech was then triumphalist. “Jabalia is no longer what it was,” said the commander of the responsible division, Itzik Cohen. “We have killed hundreds of terrorists and arrested some 500 suspects of terrorist activities,” he added, announcing the dismantling of the three battalions that the brigades had there. Four months later, a division initially prepared to invade Rafah once again entered Jabalia this Sunday, due to the reorganization of the militiamen. Both there and in al-Zeytoun, the intensity of the fighting shows that, after more than half a year of war, “total victory” in Gaza is far from involving the dismantling of the last four Hamas battalions standing, all of them in Rafah.
