The fascist, genocidal, and traitorous government of Dina Boluarte called general elections for 2026 two days ago. It could have done so as late as April 12, but it preferred to do so early to try to calm the protests and widespread rejection of the masses, sending out the message that in 16 months it will be defunct, as yet another government of the big bourgeoisie, a lackey of imperialism, primarily Yankee, a reactionary government that has failed, more notoriously than all previous ones, in its three reactionary tasks. It has done so to try to "feed the illusion of change," according to the editorial of the reactionary newspaper El Comercio. But the masses know from their own experience that they can expect nothing from reactionary elections to replace the authorities of the old State, that every new government is more starving, genocidal, and traitorous than the previous one, a law established by Chairman Gonzalo. The same editorial in the reactionary newspaper reflects how this historical truth plays out in the minds of reactionaries, writing:
"The memory of how that same hope has been systematically frustrated on previous occasions, however, raises concerns that cannot be ignored.
Some more, others less, those who came to power since the end of the last century improvised. Their government programs were essentially a formality they complied with to pursue their electoral ambitions. Citizens, of course, cannot be absolved of responsibility. It was their lack of interest in demanding seriousness and truthfulness in these plans before endorsing them at the polls that allowed this mess to happen. And this time, with more than 40 organizations registered to participate in the elections, that problem tends to worsen."
And, as they are already announcing, drawing a lesson from the very decomposition of the old society of oppression and exploitation and the old State, the failure of the new reactionary elections to replace the authorities is already a foregone conclusion, with the participation of more than 40 electoral clubs of reactionaries, opportunists, and revisionists.
Thus, the old semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, on whose basis a bureaucratic capitalism in the service of imperialism operates, and the old State that represents and defends it, a landowning-bureaucratic State in the service of imperialism, primarily Yankee, are only about to be swept away by the People's War, a sweep that began on May 17, 1980, with the ILA 80, a People's War that has not ceased, nor can it ever be ceased as long as a single communist exists, because he or she will have to rebuild everything and continue until the victory of the democratic revolution and its uninterrupted passage to socialism, to communism.
The Communist Party of Peru, fighting alongside the masses, is promoting its general reorganization to give new impetus to the people's war and overcome the bend and the turning point, firmly adhering to the leadership of Chairman Gonzalo and his all-powerful Gonzalo Thought.
