NEWS NOTE:

AGAINST THE MILITARY DEPLOYMENT OF YANKEE IMPERIALISM IN VENEZUELA

In articles published in Peruvian and international newspapers in recent days this month and year, it has been reported that:

“The Trump administration has ordered the deployment of three US warships near the coast of Venezuela, reviving old rumors of a military intervention to overthrow Nicolás Maduro, who in turn has responded with the mobilization of troops.”

The above announcement and the blatant interventionist attitude of Yankee imperialism led by Trump against Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, etc., under the pretext of the lack of collaboration of their governments in the fight against organized crime, "narcoterrorism," "illegal immigration" that constitute a threat to the security of the United States itself, or "unjust judicial persecution against Bolsonaro in Brazil," and other measures and statements by the president himself and other authorities of Yankee imperialism, require our analysis and pronouncement.

We begin by taking a stand for the people of Venezuela and Latin America, who are part of the immense mass of oppressed nations, nations in formation, and who are the foundation of the world proletarian revolution.

We condemn, reject, and brandish the increased intervention of Yankee imperialism in the internal affairs of Venezuela and all our countries, brandishing not only the threat and use of political, economic, and other measures, but primarily the credible threat of using its military force in its capacity as the sole hegemonic imperialist superpower to implement its political, economic, and military plans.

We express the need to sweep Yankee imperialism and other imperialists, as well as all global reaction, from the face of the earth through people's war.

A summary of the military deployment of Yankee imperialism:

- Three missile destroyers will be positioned in international waters off the coast of Venezuela, along with 4,500 marines, along with two other ships. This coincides with the increase in the reward to $50 million for the capture of Maduro and the declaration of the so-called Cartel of the Suns, an alleged drug gang headed by the Venezuelan president, as a terrorist organization.

- What is known about this deployment?

The Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group—which includes the USS San Antonio, the USS Iwo Jima, and the USS Fort Lauderdale, with 4,500 sailors—and the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, with 2,200 Marines, are headed to the region, according to Defense Department officials.

They departed Norfolk, Virginia, earlier this week but had to turn back to avoid Hurricane Erin. They are expected to depart again soon and are likely to arrive in the coming days. Several P-8 surveillance aircraft and a submarine are also being deployed to the region, officials said.

The destroyers heading to an area outside Venezuelan waters are the USS Jason Dunham and the USS Gravely, both warships that recently participated in the campaign against the Houthi militia in the Red Sea. A third destroyer, the USS Sampson, currently in the eastern Pacific, could They are expected to join soon, an official said.

These warships are Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers, equipped with more than 90 missiles, including surface-to-air missiles. They can conduct anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warfare, and shoot down ballistic missiles.
Deploying them against drug cartels would be like “bringing a howitzer to a knife fight,” a defense official said Thursday.

The scale of the forces the Pentagon is mobilizing, coupled with Trump’s order, suggests the administration is contemplating actions that go far beyond law enforcement-style maritime interdictions.
“By sending three Arleigh Burke destroyers off the coast of Venezuela, President Trump is bringing a serious land-attack capability through Tomahawk missiles,” said Admiral James Tavridis, a former head of U.S. Southern Command and now retired. “Also sophisticated intelligence gathering, six advanced helicopters, 1,000 sailors, and sophisticated command control to execute “anti-narcotics operations at sea.”

That the government's specific operational intentions are being kept unusually secret, even within the executive branch, according to several officials. It remains unclear what criteria or rules of engagement the government is considering for any operation using armed force.

The source of the aforementioned facts is The New York Times, News Analysis: Is the Trump Administration Preparing for a Military Confrontation with Venezuela?, August 25, 2025.

- The genocidal Trump justifies the operation as a fight against drug trafficking.

"Trump is prepared to use every means of American power to prevent drugs from flooding our country and bring those responsible to justice," said White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt when asked about the possible mobilization of troops. "The Maduro government is not the legitimate government of Venezuela; it is a narco-terror cartel," she added.

Also:

- There is no clear information on where or when the US fleet will arrive in the southern Caribbean.

- Maduro mobilizes troops and summons the Bolivarian Militia.

- Experts see a low probability of invasion, but high political pressure.

Controversial facts that we add to the previous media summary:

- Venezuelan authorities announced the mobilization of 15,000 troops to the border with Colombia, also for anti-drug operations, as Nicolás Maduro's government denounces the US mobilization as an "escalation of hostile actions."

- Caracas also demanded this Tuesday at the United Nations "the immediate cessation of the US military deployment in the Caribbean," according to a statement. Foreign Minister Yván Gil requested the "support" of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to "restore sanity."

- The current Trump administration, however, initiated early contacts with Chavismo to coordinate the deportation of undocumented Venezuelans in the United States.

- In fact, planes carrying deportees have continued to arrive in Venezuela due to the tension.

- The same with oil. Trump, after ordering the suspension of operations by the oil giant Chevron, authorized the renewal of a special permit that evades the embargo.

- "Every day we're waiting for a ship, and the truth is that the ships leaving are oil ships; some of them came from Chevron to the United States," said Vice President and Minister of Hydrocarbons Delcy Rodríguez on Monday.

(She expresses the government's need to downplay the threat of intervention because it destabilizes the government, as a columnist in a reactionary Peruvian newspaper says, "it could encourage some Venezuelan general to act against Maduro"; she also indicates that they are negotiating under existential pressure.)

We know that Yankee imperialism's plan for a new defense structure for the Western Hemisphere has been developing for decades, which gained new momentum starting with the previous Trump administration, in addition to the comments about the alleged justifications for Yankee imperialism's massive deployment of military force in this part of our continent. We can affirm the following:

- That imperialism, as part of its plan to maintain its global hegemony, whose strategic base is our continent, needs to deploy its military forces in South America, extending its military structure to the entire continent. In the North, it has already advanced its plans with the first Trump administration and that of López Obrador, including the Mexican Armed Forces within the Northern Command. In Latin America, they have been advancing with the deployment of military bases, with the incorporation of the Colombian Armed Forces into NATO, and with the Southern Command Seminars. The Yankees have already set a precedent, which was the joint intervention force in Haiti.

- That, we base our argument on the fact that the deployment of imperialism's military force on this scale is in keeping with its national strategy, which contemplates the use of all its political, economic, and military power not only in times of war but also in non-war situations to achieve its national objectives. This strategy contemplates the use of the credible threat of all its military power (deterrence through the use of its military power) to subdue its opponent, which could be a hostile power or any foreign government.

That, for the moment, it cannot be affirmed that the military presence of Yankee imperialism has a permanent presence to the extent that it is currently deploying off the coast of Venezuela, or that it will assume a presence on that scale off the coast of other of our countries.

- That, with the information at our disposal, we are unable to determine what form the deployment of US military force in South America will take, as part of the development of its new military structure.

- But it can be said, without fear of being mistaken, that we are witnessing the implementation of a new edition of the old interventionist policy of Yankee imperialism, which was called the "imperialist gunboat policy" more than a hundred years ago.

. That, based on the facts and comments, there are other secondary objectives of the deployment of Yankee imperialism against Venezuela and of the other measures of the Trump administration that we referred to at the beginning. But we will say that their results are subordinated to the primary objective of this demonstration of a credible threat of the use of military force with the deployment of a military force on this scale.

The so-called "New Western Hemisphere Defense Structure" and the military deployment of Yankee imperialism aim to defend its status as the sole hegemonic imperialist superpower worldwide. Because Latin America, as its backyard, is the strategic base of its global hegemony, Yankee imperialism, as its great gendarme, is directly targeting the development of the new democratic revolution on our continent.

The proletariat of Venezuela is presented with a great opportunity to reconstitute its PC, as it is a necessity, the proletariat of this country represented by its vanguard has to fight to lead the armed struggle to oppose the military intervention of imperialism if it occurs, but whatever the situation, the Maoist revolutionaries in Venezuela must put themselves at the head of the struggle of the masses and strive to lead it against imperialism, semi-feudalism and bureaucratic capitalism and, in the midst of it, constitute or reconstitute their party, to transform this armed struggle into a people's war, if it occurs due to the military intervention of imperialism, or if it does not occur, in order to initiate the people's war to make the revolution. The proletariat represented by its PC, must initiate and develop the people's war, with or without military intervention by imperialism, to make the new democratic revolution.

Yankee imperialism is going through a serious crisis as an expression of its own collapse and devastation. Therefore, it is also clear that it intends to take advantage of the situation in Venezuela to restore order internally and gain ground abroad, which is why it is fueling the conflict. The Trump administration is a failed government and has midterm elections looming, so these measures, with great domestic impact, are intended to win elections. They seek to impose political changes in Venezuela or, in this case, to force the Maduro government or the governments of the other aforementioned countries to further submit to the Trump administration's demands.

This development also expresses the collusion and struggle between Yankee imperialism, the sole hegemonic superpower (the big dog), and the nuclear superpower Russia (the skinny dog), and other powers. In this situation, collusion is expressed as the main factor, but the struggle underlies and is expressed.

We raise the slogan of supporting the Venezuelan people; it is good; we must spread it; The deployment of military force and threats against the Venezuelan government led by Maduro is an arrogant intervention by Yankee imperialism in Venezuela's internal affairs. It is a shameless aggression against an oppressed country. After World War II, Yankee imperialists have taken the place of the German, Japanese, and Italian fascists, so we do not rule out a military invasion. Yankee imperialism devastates peoples and acts as a gendarme. Yankee imperialism must be called the great gendarme and the principal enemy of the peoples of the world, because that is what it is.

We know very well that with such powerful and highly sophisticated military equipment, Yankee imperialism has only suffered defeats since after World War II and finds itself bogged down in the Greater Middle East.

We believe that weapons are not the main thing; the question is what idea arms the arm. Ideology is the weapon of victory. This is also what Lenin taught us, and this is what comes from Marx. We therefore have a strict Marxist-Leninist-Maoist position, Gonzalo Thought.

It is just and necessary to support the Venezuelan people, and we must mobilize the masses against the plans of Yankee imperialism with the slogan: "Yankees, go home!"

Yankees out of Venezuela and Latin America!

Let's support the Venezuelan people!
